BG2EE Download SUPER slow?

Is there something I am doing wrong or is everyone only getting around 100 KB/s. Thats like dial up......

    Are u using client or downloading direct from website? If the latter, the client is much faster.

    Its downloading with 500kb here now but was 100 earlier on. Did you update the installer ? after I did that it went up to the 500. I am nearly done now due to that :)

    Since when was 100kbps like dial up? I think you have a very rose tinted view if the pre-broadband era.

    Heck, I'm lucky if I get 100kbps at the moment. :P

    Isn't dial-up limited to 56KB/s max?

    Anyways @drsahl might be right. I just downloaded the client, so it's presumably the newest version of it.

    I am getting 300-400 KB/s, which is about 10x faster than what I was getting from downloading directly off the website.

    If its any consolation, I have finished downloading the game and I freed a little bandwidth for you...

    Lol 56 Kb vs 100 Kb please tell me how I am confused as that being a logical comparison zzzzzz

    I guess I am pampered used to 10 MB/s at 100 Kbs is like 10 hours amazing how I gave these guys money *sigh*

    I'm at 2.6 of 2.6 and suddenly slowed down to 133 b/s. Not a typo. I feel about as patient as my 2 year old right now. :)

    I managed to download the whole thing (no pre-load) in under an hour...

    I've tried two different places: First the beamdog client, which gave me 100-250 Kb/s and then the installer from the website yielding 5 Mb/s to start with and then drops off to fluctuating at the same level as the damn client... :(

    Edit: And now I made the fatal error of clicking a link in the downloader and it is freezing up...

    Edit: Scratch that... downloader now down to 80-100 Kb/s

    I'm using beamdog, and it DL at a decent speed until around 99.8%, then seems to hang for an hour or so for that last .2%

    mine started at 100 kb/s then went all the way up to 9 mb/s when it finished, maybe it just has slow start?

    I got to 99.9% with a pretty fast dl rate, then it went to about 500 bytes/sec, and has been crawling along like this for 5 hours. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot?

    I had a very slow download speed the closer it got the finishing. I just paused the download, then turned it back on. It worked like a charm, and finished downloading almost right away. (i was at 99.8% when I paused it)

    Pausing then restarting the download worked for me. Thanks rathe101!

    Other users have suggested pausing/unpausing. I did this and it crashed the client. Had to restart my computer to get it working again, and I lost all progress except for 400 mb.

    I had done the preload for BG2, and am trying to download the extra 1GB. However I am getting speeds that are often below 1KB/sec.

    In comparison, when downloading something normally, e.g. with Steam, I get speeds of 1.5 MB/sec.

    I've tried restarting both my PC and modem, but it didn't help.

    Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

    You are putting faith into a game that is having trouble at launch with a little over two thousand pre orders nothing more lol.

    But hey BG1EE multiplayer is ALMOST working.

    I CANNOT believe they are promoting BG2EE multiplayer it's LOL IRL!!

    Gah... got to "2.6GB of 2.6GB" in a mere two hours, and then suddenly dropped below 1kBps for the finish. (I'm even seeing the occasional "1.00 B/s" -- not fooling -- and am hovering around 80 B/s in general.) Still not done two hours later for what can't be more than just a few MB left. We must all be pounding the server mercilessly...
