Normal download with normal installation (help please)

Hi!
I used the standalone version and it sucks monkey balls so it's going to get uninstalled. Which page do I go to, to install BG2EE normally (so I can decide where the game goes, I can see the game once it's been installed AND I get a nice shiny icon on my desktop)? Thanks!

    Actually under settings in the installer you can decide the installation folder.

    The stand-alone installer allows you to choose the installation directory and you'll be able to see the installation. It's definitely the more "normal" option (compared to installing it with the client). I don't think either version automatically creates a shortcut that directly runs the game (instead of just running the launcher/client), but it's super easy to create one, at least with the stand-alone version (haven't tried it with the client).

    Here's what it looks like. This is the screen you'll get after running the intaller and clicking "next" a single time.

    @TJ_Hooker
    When does that screen pop up? All I get is the screen above where I can decide the installation folder. Thereafter, the only choice I can make is to download. /J

    I'm not sure if I understand, but if you're seeing the screen that @lordkim posted, then what you have is the Beamdog client, not the standalone installer.

    Alternatively, if you know a little torrent things and have a torrent software... if you don't like or have a problem with the standard launchers, you could also directly try that for win :
    http://www.beamdog.com/client/beam/#####.torrent
    with ##### = 00783 for BG2EE
    (you just need to have your account connected on beamdog on start)

    Worked beautifully and did wonders for me, as i have totally broken launchers here (crashing at start..all..even the last special one for bg2ee - apparently a serious VB problem on my OS right now (( ..) ; i could even say that litterally totally saved my day here... :-)

    (you can choose directly your DL dir (and drive!) from your torrent soft..you will get all the files, the chitin key, the exe..at first start that will create on your c: your bg2ee special directory (in settings), just bellow the usual bg1ee one.. in that one, you will have your ini and folders for saves, screenshots, etc) : worked fabulously well for me. Really happy i could get so easily the game with that alternative way as such here - and once again thx to the one that suggested that little direct torrent trick some times ago..but i noted it precisouly.. ;) ).

    ps:
    of course, for any updates (no more automatical /launcher verification^), you will have to look in the forums (not auto) to know if a new patch is available, re-DL the new torrent file (like for me here for bg2ee with initially the pre-DL files only), and simply recheck files (in the torrent soft always) with the new torrent (or install in a full new dir DL) and..voilà too) a thing i can live with too. very very nice)
