When you import a character from BG1 which had a portrait from the portrait pack, you no longer have a portrait in BG2.

(Don't tell me you didn't test that, I don't believe you ! ;p )

    Ran into that problem myself. Also, I had to wrestle with a few things to import an old character in the first place, I'd figure you would've streamlined that

    Just import them to BG2:EE with Near Infinity Editor and put them in you BG2:EE override folder, just a temporal good fix.

    I'm getting this also. I've got a portrait on the side bar in game, but when I check my profile I just see a big empty space, not even that blank headshape. Funnily enough if I copy the same custom portraits into BG2:EE portraits folder the game has no problem finding them automatically, but can't find its own portraits pack correctly. Weird.

    OK cool ! )
    EEKeeper can solve that apparently - ouf *) ;

    i opened EEKeeper for BG1EE..opened a BG1EE save..EEK 'change portrait'..in the looong list (was precisely simply a portrait from the default BG1EE extra pack here..but of course, that extra bg1ee pack was apparently NOT implanted in the extra bg2ee pack that has other new extra portraits now.. would have been easier too, could have been spotted directly with EEK with a BG2EE save directly^^..), once the good portrait recognized, 'extract' ('large portraits' right list)... that will put the portrait.bmp under 'Portraits' folder in the BG1EE saves folders (c:(..)settings.. ) [here was MANLEY3M.bmp ^^ ]... copy/paste the BG1EE 'Portraits' folder into BG2EE folders (with MANLEY3M.bmp inside so.. the BIG size only is enough in BG2EE..useful here..no need intermediary sizes..only if we want some different images..^)... now, inside BG2EE, charname profile screen-->customize-->appearance-->customize again (yeah yeah, easy! *) ).. and select your good portrait name (MANLEY3M here), that is now in the full available list... easy, so!^ :*/

    seems ok now.. k )

    ps; and now i realize ***M portrait is not the max size possible, should be ***L..oh well.. ^^ */

    I'd like to see an official reply to this myself. It's quite strange.

    There was an official comment about this in another thread; essentially they are aware of the problem and intend to fix it eventually, but have not fixed it yet because there is a complication related to the fact that the portraits must be purchased separately on certain platforms (iPad? I don't recall the specifics.)

    (I've been trying to find that thread but haven't had any luck.)

    So just to resurrect an old topic I just got to this point after buying BG1 and BG2 on the ipad and paying for the character pack too. I've played all BG1 with the character portraits and I don't want to change them in BG2 (plus the default options are horrible IMHO). So an official fix would be nice, I did try "restore purchases" which is the standard method.

    Sounds like I may be able to export, play with some character editor then import them back in again? I guess if I have to...
