Import help

The game works fine. However, I wish to import the character that I have played in the first game. I have tried the solution that others has proposed, but it doesn't work for me. Can anyone help me?

    Make a save in Baldur's Gate 2. That would create the save folder in the Baldur's Gate 2 folder. Once you have done that, you take the save file of the character you want to import from Baldur's Gate 1 and put it on that BG 2 save folder.
