Is the big red button supposed to do something?

It's at the left end of the toolbar. Activating it opens up a bar of translucent square tiles just big enough for spell icons, but as far as I've been able to tell, there's no way to interact with that bar. So... what is it and what's it supposed to do?

    It displays all the items nearby that your character can pick up. Click any item and the character will move to it and get it automatically. It only concerns the items on the ground (dropped after a fight).

    It's actually really helpful - instead of searching every body after a fight, you can just hit quickloot to see everything and grab what you want. I don't think there's a keybinding for it, though
