Thief Skills... Bug?

So, I remember reading somewhere that you never needed more than 100 skill in find traps and open lock, and that 100 in those two skills will open all locks and find all traps in the game. However, I'm in the Harper Hold and trying to pick the lock on the "Eye Painting" with Hexxat who currently has 100 open locks but she cannot open this lock. Was I misinformed or is this perhaps a bug?

    This may come across as being a dumb question but...

    Whats Hexxat's current dexterity and are you sure she currently has 100 in open locks?

    Edit: I've tested it and I had no problems opening the lock just now with 100 points.

    I see my problem now, I thought she was at 100 when I leveled up last because she didn't have the cloak on when I leveled up. Meaning she had higher dex and therefore higher skills... that's pretty confusing, that her point total will read two different things depending on whether or not she is cloaked... gotta be sure next time the cloak is on when I level so I can open locks/find traps with 100% chance in both scenarios (cloaked and uncloaked).

    The cloak will lower her thieving skills generally by 15-20 points (some things it won't touch, while others it will).

    Most of the traps or locks you find are indoors, so its not really that big of a deal

    Yeah with it on I have 80 Open Locks and 85 Find Traps. Without it I have 100 in both, so 20 for Open Locks and 15 for Find Traps.

    Just wait until you get to the new forest zones and try and tell me it's not a big deal :P
