Has anyone ever done a (full) multi-romance playthrough?

I've played through BG2 countless times... and every single time end up with Jaheira. Her LOVETALKs seem to trigger way more often than any other NPC.

So, anyway, I'm thinking of doing a playthrough with multi-romance stuff, so I can (finally) try and see what the big deal about Viconia is. Has anyone ever done a whole playthrough with multiple romances? Does it "break" anything? I.E. will triggering one NPC's LOVETALK prevent another's from triggering properly?

It's rare but not unheard of. Usually lovetalks like other kinds of interjections and banter will "queue up", but there are no guarantees. As every NPC has her own lovetalk music, that will usually tip you off if one is supposed to play but doesn't. Either way it's nothing that can't be fixed with some console commands.

Those are issues with vanilla, but not EE. ;)

You can absolutely multiromance -- to a point. There will come a time when you'll have to choose between NPCs.

@LiamEsler Ah, good to know. 8) And I was assuming he'd be using a mod (or self-editing) to get rid of the conflicts.

Great to hear this news. I look forward to seeing the fur fly. It has been quite some time since I last played BG2, but I recall quite a bit of bickering between Aerie and Jaheira. Throw Neera in to the mix, and I can only imagine the chaos that will ensue.

Right, that's the same with vanilla. It's that "point" that disallows multi-romance in the first place.

I've done a full multi-romance playthrough back in the day via mods that allow you to complete all the romances on one character. I've also done all the original romances individually. As others have said, you can always juggle more than one, but without a mod or other form of cheating, you'll eventually have to choose. If you have more than one romance NPC in your group and want a specific romance, just be prepared to turn down the others when it becomes obvious they want to take things a bit beyond just being friends. Just because NPC1's lovetalks come faster doesn't mean you can't say some variation of, "Sorry, no." if they get too far along and jeopardize the one you want.
