Difficulty bugged?

Has anyone else noticed issues with difficulty settings?

On normal, I have yet to need an ID scroll and haven't had a single spell scribe failure. Probably not impossible, but seems way too easy compared to previous BG2 experience.

    Normal always removed spell scribe failure, maxed HP on level ups, and fully healed all party members on resting. It's been that way since vanilla BG2. It even says so in the description.

    As for your ID never failing, its dependant on lore skill. Usually a lore of 20-30 can ID minor magical items like Dagger +1. It's always been that way.

    That's standard behaviour... spell scribe failures only start happening on core difficulty.

    I actually meant middle position (core rules).

    Curiously, after restarting the game it seems to be fixed. *shrug*

    Hm it's possible you switched to Normal in the middle of your game and then back to Core, but the switch didn't carry over until you reloaded your game. Or you may have just gotten lucky and not failed any spell scribes. It IS an 85-95% chance to scribe for most people, after all.
