BG2EE now on Steam...

So, BG2EE is now out on Steam as well (at least in the UK, don't know about the rest of the world). It's only been out an hour and according to the community page there's 778 people in-game already, which great. Is this a bittersweet feeling for the developers, or a testamony to their accomplishments? I know that for Beamdog, buying it from Beamdog is the better option for them, and I don't know how much of a loss a Steam sale would be, but it's still good that people are buying and playing it an hour after it's out.

How does everyone feel about this?

just for anyones info, in the UK its £18.99 through steam, but if you buy direct from beamdog it works out at ~£16 with the conversion rate to dollars if you use paypal. plus you give more money to the devs.

I don't think that's true. I got BG EE on Steam, and EEkeeper works fine. I haven't tried it for BG 2 EE though.

But yes, I am based in UK and Beamdog is actually cheaper for those of us using GBP :D

You mean buying through steam is more expensive than it should be, if we buy it through beamdog we get it for the same cost as anywhere else in the world.

Games are always more expensive in the UK and also in Australia.

In Spain, the Steam version is on 22.99€, and on Beamdog, 25€. But I think that is better buying on Beamdog because you can install the game everywhere, without restriction, and play at the same time.

It's actually 25 dollars on the Beamdog store. So it's cheaper to buy it from there.

I hate the companies think that $25 is the same as 25€!

I can assure you that the companies know very well that 25$ is not 25euro, its their customers that unaware to this fact, or at least don't really care ;-)
