Spell and effective spell Caster Lvl question

Ok, some spells have a limit below 20 (magic missile at 9, fireball at 12 etc) meaning there is no difference in casting a fireball if you are lvl 12, 20 or 31.

A lot of spells have a spell casting limit of 20 (abi dhalzim's for example)

My question: which spells have spell casting limit above 20?

As far as i know, dispel magic has no limit, so higher is better (more chances to dispel)

(As a note, using a bard to dispel is pretty useful since it has a high lvl compared to other classes.)

Any other spells where lvls above 20 matter?

    Hmmm.. "Skull Trap" comes to mind.. and regarding your note.. don't forget the Inquisitors "Dispel Magic" ability which is even better than a Bard ones.

    I believe Dispel Magic/Remove Magic are the only ones where level should matter beyond 20. Skull Trap may be bugged.

    Skull trap i believe also has a lvl cap of 20... otherwise a 3rd lvl spell doing 31d6 would sound waaaay too good.

    Yeah, insquisitors are the best , a bards dispel magic is a good option when you DONT use an inquisitor.

    Hmmm.. I think I once read Skull Trap is capped at 30 and I just made a quick test with a 31 level Wild Mage.. damaged Imoen for 73 points (she made her save) which wouldn't be possible if its capped at 20.

    wow, so skull trap is actually the highest damaging spell in the game? (epic spells aside)
    horrid wrilting = 20d8 = max 160 with save 80 damage

    skull trap 30d6 = max 180 with save 90 ... and you can put 3 in a lvl 7 trigger... the only limitation being the enemies inmune to lvl 5 or less (liches, demogorgon, melisan, ravager and thats about it..)

    always learning something new...

    I believe Skull Trap scaling is unintentional. Many mods fix it because it's blatantly too powerful.

    you know, one thing that is surprising is that area effect does more dmg than single target spell.

    So in the end. Dispel magic,remove magic and skull trap and wild mage's 1st lvl spell are the only 4 spells where spell casting lvl can be higher than 20..

    I've looked in Near Infinity and Skull Trap goes up to level 20 and thats it.

    Hmmm.. strange.. then I guess the "extra" damage in my test must have come from a Wild Surge. Thanks for checking.
