Dead in all my save games (BGEE Windows)

Hello there, I hope you can help. My main character appears to be dead in all of my save games. He wasn't dead, near death or under status effects when the games were saved. It started out that this only occurred in my quick save, but later on it happened to every save game I have.

Is your character a mage/sorcerer and have you recently had your familiar killed? There are reports of characters losing hp (and possibly dying) every time after loading a saved game, instead of just once immediately after the familiar's death.
