how much pickpocket should I have?

I have like 35 pickpocket but cant pickpocket algernon, also are there any other good pickpocket targets?

Just keep trying and reloading, eventually you will succeed. Or you could get a potion that will raise the skill a bit. Or come back with a decent leveled bard. Or just kill him and take the cloak from his corpse.

With the last patch they changed how pickpocket works, you now need atleast a certain amount of skill to ever get anything good. But I still find the whole mechanic to be terrible... I'd rather just *roleplay* the act of buying it off him.

The first line would give you the cloak, the second line pays the full store price of 2625gp.

I consider this to be less cheaty then the save and load abuse of picking pockets.

You now need 50 to pickpocket him (even then its not guaranteed to work).

There is one big pick pocketing target near to Beregost.

You can pickpocket Drizzt's scimitar's if you have at least 95 in pick pockets. He is on the map west, south, south of Beregost (should have a large lake in the middle of the map)

Thats weird Alora has 90 base, with rabbits foot, potion of thievery it still says something on the line of your current pickpocket level is not enough to... though modified pickpocket is 160+

I think 100 is required to steal from every merchant in the game in BG1, 240 in BG2.
