Importing my "Final Save" to BG 2:EE

I cannot for the life of me figure out how to do it succesfully. I had previously imported a save that occured before I defeated Sarevok, but no one in BG 2 EE showed any signs of imported-ness. For example: I completed the Romance with Neera but when I met her she didn't acknowledge it. What do I do to import the "Final Save"?

Normally I'd say where have you been to not know this already, given how many times this has been answered, but seeing as how this is your very first post I'll assume this is your first time here. In any case, the answer you are not seeing any acknowledgement of what happened in the first game is that importing your save does not import variables from the first game. The developers are looking at how they might be able to do so in a future patch, but currently all that is imported from a final save is the protagonist's character information (name, class, etc.) and a few items you might have had in your inventory which you can find while escaping at the beginning of the game.
