Classes and kits that need rebalancing

Having completed the BG games a lot of times now I've gotten to the point where I want to play something new and interesting but the only classes/kits I haven't played through are a little underwhelming. There are a number that are interesting in principle whilst poorly implemented in practice (Wizard Slayer comes to mind), whilst some such as the Beast Master are notoriously weak. Others could have very imbalanced levelling in the context of the game (Druid).

I thought it would be a good idea to create a centralised list of problematic classes with (short) suggestions for improvements to get a better idea of which ones needed some work, with an eye on redrawing up the most commonly problematic kits and classes in the feature requests section.

Here's my suggestion for the Wizard Slayer (2nd comment by me):

They aren't allowed to alter any of the base classes or anything else unless there's some bug or they are adding new content becaise Atari said so.

Best thing to do is look for a mod.

Their is a wizard slayer mod that fixes most of the components for it and plenty of other kit mods

Although still a work-in-progress, Kit Revisions aims to make the existing kits and classes more interesting and balanced. Have a look:

The beta is totally playable, but right now it only revises the warrior-type classes. It does make them more interesting to play as, however.

The beast master might not be as strong as the other 2 kits but there are some good clubs around. DW them and enjoy.
I might even give it a shot right now :D

Well, my SSM monk surprised me, she laid waste against all enemies for quite a while I even forgot to take the rest of my party with me because she is faster.
I know that monks are hard to classify, it's basically a new game of tag: how get I to lvl xx so I can use my fists against these enemys.
But yeah, there is so much new stuff around, it's really like rediscovering a new game. You really want to open all boxes, check all loot, because there just might be where that shiny new toy is hidden....
