I visted Daxus first then killed the enemies that appear in the room. After I told him to wait so I can check outside. I go outside kill the enemies come back in and tell him ok lets go outside. Now the screen happens I come outside and wait a little bit but nothing happens. I went back in and he is just standing at the stairs and will not talk to me. I tried reloading and doing it again but it just happened again.

I checked the surrounding area but I could count all the bodies so they were all dead. Hayes wouldn't talk to me and I wasn't silenced either. I ended up having to reload from a much earlier save and then it worked that time around.

I didn't think to make a save for it. I guess I should have if I was bothering to report it as a bug. -_- Guess we'll never know.

Here's a save file with the problem:

The problem occured after the first battle inside the inn. Then I asked Daxus to wait so I could check if the coast is clear and then ventured outside, thus encountering the second hostile group. I believe the game assumes you will choose the other option, exit the inn during a cutscene with Daxus and then fight. Not the other way around.

Just to note, I have this issue too, so it's not isolated. I'll reset the variable with eekeeper. Thanks for the work around.

I'm having the same problem. I told Daxus to wait while the coast is clear. Then I went upstairs and rested 8 hours knowing there were more baddies outside. I then coaxed the Thayans into the inn one at a time so I could use magic on them without being accosted by the mage guild. When the Thayans where clear I went downstairs and told him to follow me. Cut to the streets where a man named Sansuki says "Oh no, they are here! They've caught me!" I wait for a moment expecting another battle and when nothing happens I speak to Sansuki again who just says "Good-to see a like minded friend to be".
Does that help any? I'm not one to have a million save files. I just save every time I get past one opponent, so I saved over much of what would have happened. The Auto-save was from some time ago.
