That Wooden Horse Necklace... (slight BG2EE spoiler)

Reading the description, it's just an Amulet of Protection wrapped in a tiny wooden horse. Except it can be worn together with a Ring of Protection or an enchanted armor just fine. I find this to be a tiny bit OP!
So question one, intended? And if yes, can I wrap some more equipment in tiny wooden horses??

Personally I'm extremely disappointed that the Wooden Horse behaviour was changed in the recent update. I don't care about the protection side of it -- it's nice, but I survived without it in BG2 original and I can survive without it in BG2EE.
What annoys me is that its exceptionality as a protection item seemed to me a perfect fit with its story context -- it's a gift from a child (what non-evil protagonist is going to refuse to wear it?), who also happens to be a naturally gifted wild mage. There's something really quite moving about the idea of being handed a precious toy by a child with assurances that it will protect you -- and then discovering that, in fact, it's really true.
@Eudaemonium: I was thinking more that Dorn should wear the nymph cloak ...
@Jalily: Personally, I would have fixed the description (tweaked it so that it described a unique item rather than an amulet of protection wrapped in a toy), rather than made the item consistent with other amulets of protection. Maybe I protest too much here, but I think anyone with any experience of a child's certainty in their magical make-believe will understand when I suggest that there's something rather special about a child handing you a toy which really does protect you, and in that item being as remarkable and unique as the child herself.
