For portraits: Documents\Baldur's Gate II - Enhanced Edition\Portraits

Make the folder if it doesn't exist.

For mods, it depends. Is there a specific one you need help with?

Ahh, i didn't know there was a specific folder required for particular mods. I wanted to install Unfinished Business, for example, is there a general folder that would work for most mods?
p.s. ty for the portrait info

Mods generally come with instructions (or, at least, they should). If there is no executable, you can probably drop the files in the override folder. Otherwise, look here: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/22680/how-to-set-up-tp2-mods

    From Unfinished Business's readme:

    i. Double-click the UnfinishedBusiness-v20.exe file and install to your main BG2 directory
ii. Once the install program has finished, it will launce the WeiDU installer program. Simply follow the on-screen instructions in the new DOS window.

    ty for the timely response.

that is the part i am having trouble on; it says the main BG2 directory--is that the folder the exe file is in, or one of the data folders? I tried programfiles/baldursgate2enhanced, and it didnt fly.

That's the folder that contains chitin.key - in other words, 00783.
