Beholders shooting something waaaay off screen

So I went through the Cult of the Unseeing Eye quest, and I had donned the shield of Balduran, running into the fray and letting the beholders have a go. At first they targeted me, but once a few rays reflected, they just started shooting stuff off to the far left at seemingly random.

Happened with all beholders after they got a few beems reflected at them.

    Actually, I had noticed this in the first black pits in BGEE (not with the shield). The beholder at the end would randomly spam eye rays behind it at... nothing? I haven't played the black pits since, but I'm guessing it's still there as well.

    I have seen this occur as well.
