Greater Wish Quest/ Pickpocketing target

In the Delosar Inn there is a group of mercenaries that get aggro on you when you enter. You can calm them down and talk yourself out of a fight.
I dont know how to do the spoiler tab so

If you kill them, the Captain has the Boomerang dagger (returning throwing knife).
But, if you kill them you cannot do the greatest adventur ever quest from the greater wish.
Well, if you have high enough pickpocket skills otherwise it will give you a message saying nothing available, you can pickpocket the dagger and still leave them alive to do the quest later.
I never see the Captain on any of the pickpocket guides, so if you were unaware, there ya go.
