Crashes in BG2:EE

This is not meant to be a bug report but rather a call for discussion regarding the frequency of crashes in BG2:EE. The reason I'm starting this topic is because I have witnessed an unfortunately high number of game crashes and save game corruption and I'm concerned. I hope that the developers take this issue as seriously as they should.

What of you guys? Did you experience any crashes? Please let me and everyone know what you think.

I get a lot of crashes when I initially launch the game, running on Windows 8 64 bit. I might have to try 2 or 3 times before it will launch. More of an annoyance than anything. I haven't had the game crash while playing yet though.

Yeah, as much as I love that it's out, this game has already crashed on me more than the original BG2 did in the years 10+ years I've played it.
