Alternatives to the (Lesser) Restoration spell

I'm considering playing a game with a party that would have a Druid and no Cleric, but ... Druids don't have the Lesser Restoration spell. Seeing as how BG2 is full of vampires and other level-draining creatures, this seems like it could be ... problematic.

OK, I guess I could visit temples, and stock up on scrolls when they are not available, but I wondered if anyone had any alternative strategies ... for whatever reason I dislike relying on money/shops to solve problems in this way :-)

    Well the obvious answer is Negative Plane Protection, which u can get from Druids as well as Clerics. Also there's the amulet that can make one of your characters immune to level drain. If you can hold the vamps in place with 2 or 3 melee specialists with appropriate protections, you should never get drained. You can also use summons as a meat shield between vamps and unprotected characters.

    Create an undead hunter (paladin kit) and have him stand in front the entire time.

    @Heindrich1988: Yes, of course, prevention is better than cure :-) I was just curious if there were any alternatives when the cure is actually needed.

    @FFG: Nice thought, one I must play with in future, but no Paladins allowed in this party ;-)

    Hindo's Doom can cast restoration. Or you could.. ah.. summon a planetar or cast Wish :)

    @nano: Wish spell is a bit high-level, no? Obtained a bit late in the day compared to all that vampire- and demon-fighting, and if I recall right, it requires super-WIS in order to use right.

    I know, but technically it works.

    Maybe try killing your party member and raising the from the dead. Not sure if that solves all problems but it solves some of them...

    I am currently playing without a priest and have no issue at all with this. Minsc has the amulet, Haer the upgraded mace of disruption now and then summons will take the rest of the drains. The only time I ever got drained was when The neg plane prot had run out in the first fight. It lasts only 5 rounds now, though I remember it as a long term buff that lasts turns... :(
