Can't Save By Enraged? - This Seems to be New

I'm fairly certain that I have always been able to save the game when I had a character in a berserker rage, even in BGEE. But in BG2EE I can't seem to save my game until after the berserker rage ends. This true for others? Is this a bug or a new feature?

    This is a bug, it also affects spirit armour or any self cast skill which can deal damage to the recipient.

    If you fail the save against the damage part of such skills, it is considered a hostile spell throughout its duration and you cannot save the game.

    Im not sure if enraged's damage can be saved against, but with spirit armour you need to reload to cast it until you pass a save against it unless you want to be blocked from saving the game for a full 2 hours.

    No way to save against the lost hit points with enrage. Raging gives you temporary hit points, and they go away when the rage ends.

    So that's what's doing it. I just CTRL+R all my party members when it refuses to let me rest/save, and then I can, but never knew what was causing the problem.

    And what the heck is up with my thread title. It should read Can't Save WHILE Enraged. Embarrassing.

    Well, the alternative is allow you to save the game in an unwinnable state if enrage is still bugged (15HP used to be deducted after the bonus HP had already been removed, possibly killing you - you can see it by making a low con berserker in BG1EE)

    I guess we've been living the alternative for the last 13 years or so. That said, if it's not truly a bug and there's a good reason for it, I don't have a problem with that. I'm just trying to understand what the change is about (my original question was bug or feature?)

    No ambre the alternative would be to fix the bugged skills and make like it wad in the original games where you could still save while enraged or with spirit armour on a failed save.

    In my beta version you can't rest while under Enrage.

    This isn't a fix, its a bug!

    Its by far worse with spells like spirit armor blocking you from saving for 2 full hours because it does a tiny bit of damage when it ends, this is the single most game crippling bug in the game if you actually bother to use these spells (and I wonder why so many players seem to struggle with this game when they dont use spells as great as spirit armour, if they did then there would be loads more complaints about this bug).

    Thankfully I'm under the zero threshold for save vs spells now, but I've had some of the singularly best and worst times because of that bug. I went from the beholders near the temple of Amaunator, into the temple, down into and through the pit of the faithless and to the end of the eyeless hive before Spirit Armor wore off, was very intense. The other times I had just overcome difficult fights and died to something stupid the very next room.

    It makes me think that perhaps rest limitations in dungeons would be a much more cerebral and interesting a way to increase difficulty than simply damage-factor or Contingency: Everything. Though, that might lead to abusing quickload to get some good dice.
