Crash without DMP file

Keep getting crashes that aren't producing DMP files

This one in particular happened in the Mind Flayer area from the Temple district sewers. Experienced severe slow down / fps issues then a crash out of nowhere. This is on a pretty much new laptop so I don't think it is a hardware issue

    I had a crash today which produced neither a crash log nor any error message. I was playing as usual (during a 10 minute battle that I had almost finished, I should add) and the game process simply vanished into thin air.

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library

    Program C:\Program Files (x86)\Beamdog\Games\00783\Baldur.exe

    This application has requested the runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information

    No DMP file was created. Couldn't take a screenshot of this cause I couldn't figure out how to print screen and paste it into paint on this stupid windows 8 laptop. This is word for word though

    Can you repeat this crash? If yes, please upload the saved game and tell us what you did.
    If you cannot repeat it, there is no way we could figure out what caused this.

    I think the severe slowdowns then crash is the symptom of the memory leak bug already reported in many places.

    Ah ok, that makes sense in terms of playing with decent hardware

    But the persistent FPS issues on my pc is another story. The system requirements need to be looked at for a smooth experience

    I don't know, this was the 2nd time it happened. I didn't even think of noting when it took place becaause it didn't seem like a particular trigger... bleh.

    If it happens again I'll gather as much info as possible and report it

    Just had another phantom crash, no DMP file, no Microsoft Runtime library error, just a straight up disintegration of the game process

    Happened when I was ambushed by people on dorns quest line and was talking to Azetha or whatever her name is.
