Couch co-op no longer an option?

Is two player co-op using the same copy no longer an option? Baldurs Gate was really the only game I could get my wife to play, so, I couldn't wait until BG2 came out. But, unfortunately, I don't see an option for 2 players on the same copy.
Also, can you use a game controller with this, I have a Logitech F310 and it doesn't seem to work.

if you are talking about installing on two different pcs like you could with the original BG (i think. copy protection wasn't big back then) then you should be able to. I have BGEE on my laptop and my desktop, though I have never attempted to have them go multiplayer together
edit: i believe you are mistaking with dark alliance. i looked it up on wikipedia and it had co op. that said the originals are a really good experience if you like tactical combat rpgs from an isometric view, and if you buy multiple copies i can assure you that you can both play. i still don't know about using just one copy.
*I haven't tried it, and you probably should buy 2 copies to support the developers... but this might serve as an adequate test to see if the mechanics would work for you.
I played that couch-coop with my ex and we both loved it.
