Crash when accessing inventory if Adamantine Shield is equipped when existing the Underdark

From saved game, press "3" to select 3rd character, then press I to access inventory. Crash. This is the issue I reported here: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/24812/crash-in-inventory-after-replacing-dusted-drow-armor#latest but for some reason I can't attach a file there. I am not sure it has anything to do with the drow armor anymore.

    Ok I've narrowed this down. This is due to holding an adamantine shield when exiting the Underdark. If the shield is equipped, then it turns into dust, and this appears to crash the application. Fortunately I had an auto save right before existing, and removing the shield avoided the crash. Moving the shield to another character cause the crash when accessing either the Inventor or Character Record screen of that character.

    Steps to reproduce:
    1. Equip Adamantine Shield + 3
    2. Exit Underdark and go through long conversation with Elves
    3. Wait for the message saying "party lost an item" and "party gained an item" <- this appears to be the game replacing your adamantine equipment
    4. Press "I" or "C" on the character which had the shield equipped

    Workarounds:
    a) You should have an auto-save right before the exit from the Underdark.
    b) You can kill the character that was holding the shield and then use resurrection.

    We know this bug, the fix for it is already submitted for testing.
