[Known 8191] Tansheron's Bow does 0 damage

Just got Tansheron's Bow off of Cattie-Brie, and its unlimited arrows are listed as dealing 0d6 damage. I tried it out, and sure enough, they don't actually deal damage. Normal arrows work fine, but shooting normal arrows from Tansheron's Bow kind of defeats the point.

You are correct--the ranged ability of cattibow.itm is set to +3 to hit with 0d6+0 damage. It is trivial to edit the damage to 1d6 but this won't change the item you already have; for that, we would have to edit the item as it exists in your save game.

Yeah, like everything that's just "x item's stats are wrong," this is pretty easy to manually go in and change back. Still needs to be fixed, though, especially for the folks who can't edit their game files so easily.

Oh, and for the record, general item changes with NI do seem to affect items that I currently own in an ongoing game. I think maybe that's new (I didn't edit item stats very much before), but I'm not complaining.

Items are not saved, any change on an item is immediate in the whole game and any saved games.

That is what I thought but someone else--I won't name names--suggested that items in inventory had to be edited in the save game, which was confusing (to say the least).

I bought this bow ("Tansheron's Bow +3") from a merchant in Trademeet and I am not having the problem you describe. Damage is listed as 5-10 with all the ammo slots empty (1d6 + 4 for proficiency), and the bow does damage when used to attack enemies. I assume that this means that the problem is with the specific version that Cattie-Brie drops.

My bad, I was thinking of the container types.

No worries. Let's not discuss all the mistakes *I* make, okay? *laugh*

@Emptiness yes, there are two different bows with the same name. The one @Jarrakul mentions is Catti-Brie's and is not normally for sale.

There are two versions of this weapon, the one named 'cattibow' doesn't have damage.
The other 'BOW15' has the damage.
So a very quick workaround is to clone BOW15 and drop the other.
