The Black Pits 2 auto-pause issue

After the intro cutscene for each arena battle is done, auto-pause does not initiate at the start of the fight even if it's set in your options menu (on "enemy sighted"). This is fairly annoying for obvious reasons.
Of course, it's also fairly annoying that every single time you want to replay the fight (because you lost or reloaded) you have to watch a 2 minute unskippable cutscene, but hey, I guess that's not a bug so much as it is a design failing.

The game wont autopause at all no matter how close they get.
However, you can go to Options -> Gameplay -> Assign Keys -> Miscellaneous and assign a key to Hard Pause. Let's use the N key for the sake of an example. If you do that, pressing the N key will only pause the game and not unpause it. This means that rapidly pressing N near the end of a cutscene will ensure that the game is paused as soon the regular gameplay starts.
