You'll need to either locate the portrait and sounds files in BG:EE and relocate them to the correct places in BGII:EE, or use the customize button to assign your character a new portrait and voice.

The customize button doesn't work. When you import a saved game it takes you to the "customize" part of the character generation where you already select a new sound set and colors and name.

This still doesn't make the character have a voice. This is a known and already reported bug.

Sound Set Issue is Bug number 4126. Will use this thread specifically for the report discussion.

That said, it's also reported already in the following thread: http://forum.baldursgate.com/discussion/comment/400152/

@LiamEsler: Can you look at 4126 for a sec? I know it says that this should be fixed by moving the portraits and sound sets from BG:EE to BG2:EE, but when you go through the process of importing a character (at least a saved game), it actually dumps you in the "Customize" part of the character creation where you are supposed to be selecting a new sound set.

I get why a portrait goes black, you're past portrait selection in the character creation section...there's no portrait to select, but with the import taking you to the customize part of the character creation section, when you select a new sound set, that SHOULD make your character able to talk.

    See 7031 for more info.

@Illdyth It requires a little more work than just copying I believe, particularly for the soundsets. 4126 is the correct bug, yeah.

For those of us on iPad this means we have no portrait and need to select a totally different voice. This is paid content, I can't believe we have to create a new character essentially just to play. We don't have PC options.... Is this not going to be resolved?

I wouldn't mind so much if I hadn't paid for these options and then up tons of time into this specific character, but you made paid dlc. I already had to repurchase the bg1 characters, and now I have a character who I either can't use, or whose going to look and sound like a completely different character. Pretty game breaking.

If you' re going to offer paid character creation dlc, it needs to be supported. PC chars can add this stuff, iPad is a heck of a lot more complex.

@Saphiron: As noted in the thread and the fact that it is tagged with a bug number, this is an identified bug that has been reported and noted in the developer's reporting database.

Your assumption that this is not being fixed is incorrect. It is identified as a bug, it is a known issue, it is in the bug tracking database as well as in the Consolidated Reported Issues thread.

As well, there may also be ways to fix this using iFunBox...specifically offloading the character portraits from your BG1 installation and onloading them to your BG2 installation on the iPad. I have NO IDEA whether these locations (where the character portraits are stored) are in a jailed section of the iPad or not...if they are then I stand corrected about being able to fix this yourself.

We agree with you that this is an annoying bug and you can rest assured that we have done everything we can to get this issue on the radar.

I think you can access the "Library" folder in the game with iFunbox without jailbreak. @meagloth overrides things that way, I have it jailbroken and I use the override folder that's inside the application itself so you can't access it without jailbreak, but you should be able to enter the characters/portraits/save directories as they are inside the Library folder that you can access without jailbreak.
Oh, custom soundsets works in BG2:EE but not in BG:EE, but you'll need it jailbroken to access the directory where those are, portraits can't be selected in the game (this happens in both games) but they work if they were already assigned.
