BG2 crashes, bugs and infuriating save failures

Anyone else experience random crashes, sometimes after a huge lag spike? Then reloading, to find that the game has screwed you over entirely and made it impossible to progress?

    Yep.

    We're finalizing a patch right now that fixes the problem; it should be ready sometime later today.

    Hmm, cool. I have a perhaps silly question for you @Dee. When I go to run BG1:EE I have a little patcher that comes up, and patches my game of course. With BG2:EE I don't seem to have that, it goes right to the opening screens. Is there a patcher for BG2:EE aswell and I'm too much of a silly monkey to know where it is or do I have to download the patches manually from the site or somesuch?

    Depends on how you installed the game.

    If you installed it with the stand-alone launcher, you'll need to run the launcher. If you installed it with the Beamdog client, you'll need to run the client.

    If you installed it with Steam, you'll need to run the Steam client.

    I installed it with the beamdog client. So, I just run the beamdog client then you say... alright then. Thanks.

    So did I, in fact, there is no other way to do it, as far as I'm aware.

    Patch has been installed, and now I have the game crash on me every time I go to load it up, and the Beamdog client is "not responding". Great.

    And yes, I tried to end the task. It does not end it. And resetting my computer fails to solve the problem. So now I have a game that I can't even play.
