BG2 patch has stopped game working at all?

Please tell me this is not just me. I open the Beamdog client to play BG2, it begins to load, but the client window is still on screen... then it crashes before I can even do anything, and the client freezes. I can't even close it.

    First question is the most important: did you have any mods installed before the update?

    I just updated and it seems to work fine for me...

    No, I never installed any mods. So that makes it doubly infuriating, because it seems I'm the only one who's having this grief.

    Can you open the game directly from the .exe file?

    Same problem here.

    Windows XP.

    I launch the client (after trying the bg2ee update) and it freeze without doing anything. I cannot even close it without ctrl+alt+canc

    :-(

    Ok, I've tried a third time. Thankfully, it seems to be working normally now.:)
    Not sure what the deal was with that. Anyway, don't worry, looks like the problem has corrected itself, but that was wierd.

    Still, just saw that other people do have the same issue, which is worrying. Try rebooting, it may help, though not immediately.

    Thanks! Now i am out of home, so i will try this evening. I hope that also my error will autocorrect himself :D
