Question about custom voice sets and portraits

One of my friends will be playing this on an iPad. I recall when I played BG2 on multiplayer everyone needed the portrait and sound files that I was using if they wanted to see or hear my custom content. Since I don't own an iPad I need to know: how will I get these files installed properly on my friend's iPad? Or will everyone having a copy no longer be necessary?
