BGII:EE (original) music not in Ogg format?

I've done some side-by-side comparisons, and looked at the file sizes across a classic BGII and a new BGII:EE install, and it appears that the music common to both installs is still in original "ACM version 1" format? For example music/bc1.mus. I was expecting that the music in BGII:EE would, whether new or old, all be in the greatly superior Ogg/Vorbis encoding as was done with BG:EE.

Can we expect a patch to introduce the higher sound quality? (Please tell me the masters were not lost sometime between then and now!)
