Dunno if it has been suggested or not, but it would be nice for an addition for an alternate way of reaching Spellhold that is either lawful or good in nature rather than the neutral/evil chaotic paths.

You mean pumping the Cowled Wizards with cash until they agree to send you there? ;P (It would be a lawful path, since bribing them is apparently the right and legal way to go, as seen when 'buying license')

There is a mod that makes that possible, intended for paladins. The radiant heart helps you in this one. Just can't find the name at the moment.

Also, via the mod that introduces Maztica, you can get to Brynnlaw.

Played it, very nice. Taking out both the Thieves Guild and Bodhi felt good to my paladin.

Something like that would improve BGII a lot, in my opinion. It's just a big flaw in the original story line that you have to work with either thieves or undead to progress. I never enjoyed playing Paladin for that reason, and felt the same way with a bunch of different characters with various classes and alignments, since working with thievs or undead is just something some people won't do, in my opinion. This seems like one of the key areas on which to expand the original BGII game.

I'm not sure about that mod however. A good solution would still be woven into the war between the guilds, since that is what is going on in the first part of the game. Either working with the authorities in investigating the guild war (sort of like in the city Baldur's Gate in game one), or maybe with the Cowled Wizards in some way (or both) would be something to consider.

I don't see this as a flaw. In this game, like it happens in life, you have to choose the lesser evil. There isn't always a "good" alternative.

There is a lawful good path available - hang around Athkatla and do nothing. If you want to rescue Imoen, you have to weigh up your options.
