BG >> Black Pits >> BG2: Saving My Pants

Greetings!

If I beat BGEE, then import my character to the Black Pits and finish the Black Pits, what happens to the items from my character's inventory that appear at the start of BG2?

Since the Black Pits remove all items upon entry, I assume importing characters into the Black Pits removes their importable items for BG2. How true is this? (Please, minimize spoilers!)

Wellllll..... If you do Black Pits, then import your character back into BGEE, get the pants and export.

Not all of them. Here is a list for original BG2. http://www.forgottenwars.com/bg1/miscellany.htm
Not to mention the golden pantaloons and drizzt items. (ok, technically they are removed but they will affect the game anyway)

There's no smooth in-game way to do it. Either import back and get the pantaloons again, or just edit the them into BG2 after starting. You can also export your final BG1 save to BG2 as normal and then edit in the exp you got from the Black Pits.

Yeah, but those items make no difference in the long run. Except the pantaloons, of course, but you could just console them in. As you could the rest if you wanted to, of course.

Yes, but having drizzt items will change a variable too, for the different drizzt dialog. (of course you can change it in the console too) Helm of Balduran isn't that bad, but you get it by default.
So maybe they should do something about it.

i thought the golden pantaloons would import if you had them in your inventory. then don't they appear in the weapons chest NWW of your cage in chateau irenicus? i'm sure that's how it was in vanilla bg2

Looked it up, here's a comprehensive description of the "Pantaloon Engima", the pantaloons appear behind the trapped/locked portrait
