Re-setting Stats w/o using mods etc

Hey guys.

I seem to remember (I could be really really wrong - another game maybe? :/) that in BG1 or BG2, there's a tome, or potion or something that you could buy/get that means you can reset your weapon skill pips and stats etc WITHOUT A MOD/DOWNLOAD.

Am I correct, or is it just sorta-not really old age?

    Doesn't sound correct, no such in-game possibilities to the best of my knowledge.

    it sounds like something that Diablo might have had. But to my knowledge there isn't anything like that in vanilla BG. I am sure you could do something like that with Shadow-keeper, but from an "In game" perspective, that type of thing doesn't really seem to make sense (yeah, I get it is a game where Magic exists).

    fair enough - I'm just wracking my brains wondering where that was....I keep thinking it's a top-down RPG like Baldur's Gate. I'm thinking Icewind Dale....but that's not right :/

    I guess it could be modded into the game as a result of reading the "Great Book of the Unknowing" beneath Candlekeep that Shaella gives you a quest to find. 8)

    @Shin - excellent idea. See, the greatest thing about this game is that just about anything is subject of an explanation if you are creative enough. props to you @Shin. I'd have not come up with something like that.
