saemon havarian bug (spoiler)

he just gave me the quest to steal the horn. i'm supposed to meet him at the docks but he refuses to leave the inn. if i talk to him, when i have the horn, we get teleported to one wall but still in the inn and he starts doing the next dialogue with the pirate lord but the pirate isn't there. after that nothing happens and i don't get the ship.

anybody know if it is possible to fix this?

    Work Around:
The bug happens when you leave the inn before Saemon does. So you have to wait he leave the room first, so he will move to the docks. If you leave first, he will re-spawn at the inn.

You should be able to solve the problem by going outside to where you're supposed to meet Saemon and spawning him with the CluaConsole:

    C:CreateCreature("ppsaem3")

This was an old bug from the vanilla. Shame they haven't fixed in the EE.

    Thanks a lot! Genius!

I attacked him (with AI off, so my party wouldn't slaughter him). Once he started to follow me, I went outside and he followed. One Dire Charm later, Saemon was open to discussion. This time he was in the right area though, and I was able to proceed with no problems. He casts Stoneskin and Haste before moving, so let him finish those spells before exiting the tavern.

if you kill him at some point, does that stop him showing up later in the game?

Funny how you managed to attack him and he does not escape. In my game, I accidentally hit me with a aoe fireball and he instantly dimension door away. Thus the event ends the possibility to go to the Sahuagin City.

I whacked him with a staff. I guess he has different scripts depending on what you attack him with.

If you kill him in SOA, he still turns up in ToB.

I think if you manage to kill him at the docks/vampire ambush, he won't show up in Spellhold to get you out, but I'm not sure about that.

I encountered this problem today. It seems that I had not slept after Spellhold and had not had the dream in which I gained the slayer change ability. So I tried resting in the inn before talking to Saemon. I had the dream, then talked to Saemon, rested till night and then got the horn. Saemon had appeared to the docks :)

I had the same problem, Havarian not showing up. I found out: The Area Script (ar1600.bcs) of Brynnlaw does have an infinite loop if you kill Chremy before you have talked to Ginia, so the script cannot progress to spawning havarian.
    Solution is to type: C:SetGlobal("TalkedToGinia","GLOBAL",1)

I made a Fix to solve the problem, so havarian appears anyway and you can do Ginias Quest even after killing Chremy before talking to her first (wasnt possible before).
Just unzip into your game folder. You dont have to start a new game for it to work

I got a similar though slightly different problem with Saemon and am looking for help

The situation: I met Saemon at the tavern. After talking he leaves the tavern (so no issue there). I get the horn at night. So far so good.

The issue: Saemon is gone, never shows up at the docks! Also, according to what I read, a guy named Desharik is supposed to show up after stealing the horn but does not. (I tried so many times now)

I am playing BG2EE on iPad so I cannot use the console to spwan Saemon, right?
    So what are my options?

    - Is there anything I can do to fix this without the console?
    - Is it worth reloading at arrival at Brynnlaw and play the entre chapter again to avoid this bug? I read that a cause of the bug with be something around killing a certain pirate but I don't know what to do right this time
    - Anything else??

I know I can take the portal but I don't want to shortcut!

    Thank you!!

Just had the problem with the horn not being available because the sleeping mistress and lover are not at home.
But then they suddenly were after resting God knows how many times, but the playthrough beforehand, that didn't work.

The thing is, it seems to me to be a totally random occurence. Problem hasn't happened before, but then on another playthrough it has, then it doesn't happen and then it does.

What is it, or what sequence of events must happen, from the moment you step foot on Brynlaw, to ensure quest always works?
I know to talk to SH in the inn, I very carefully wait for him to leave the inn first.
But this is the first time anybody has said it's related to speaking to Ginia before killing Chemry (which I do before Spellhold)
Do you need to rest at the inn before talking to SH, or should you rest afterwards, or do you need to rest at all?
Can you arrive at night, save time by immediately talking to SH, watch him leave, go straight to house to nick horn (as it is still nightime)?
Is the group that attacks you on the docks (slavers?) related to this?

Thanks for any replies, consoling stuff is not a solution for me, just want to know the "perfect" walkthrough to get past this and not have the randomness of no horn, no SH, no sleeping couple ect.

This is the solution: I played Brynnlaw again, skipped all optional quests, went straight to the Asylum, played the entire chapter again ... and ... this time it worked. Back in Brynnlaw, Saemon showed up, both at the tavern and at the ship. Downside is I left out the optional quests. So I guess the bug is somewhat connected to the Brynnlaw quests.

The bug is just the Ginia/Chremy quest.

You may have to backtrack to where you regained your freedom (after the series of small areas with the Apparition asking questions - the place where there are a set of hidden stairs and you are awarded 51250 xp for each character). I always do a major save game there. Once I got the bug with Saemon Havarian not appearing and had to backtrack but it's not that bad. I'm not sure if I rested and changed into the Slayer on that play through before talking with Saemon, so maybe it's a good idea to always rest on the platform just after gaining your freedom. I always complete and finalize the Ginia quest before entering the Vulgar Monkey to speak with Saemon.

Or of course you can: Add debug mode=1 to the baldur.ini file. Start the game, and then move your party to the south docks. Hit Control+Space and type:
    CLUAConsole:CreateCreature("ppsaem3")
This will cause Saemon to appear at the south dock; talk to him and he recognizes that you have the Horn.
That worked for me once as well.

    Ginia and Chremy are unrelated
except that Chemy owns a medallion you can use as one option to enter Galvena's Festhall
. One problem with the Pirate Horn is that you need to enter the house after hour 21 and not too late at night either. If you're close to 21:00 and resting a few times for 8 hours each, you skip ahead by a full day. Try running around the village for time to pass beyond 21:00.
