1.2 patch saves issue.

I'm severely incompetent with computers, but I'm being warned that I will lose my savegames if I install the 1.2 patch. I don't know what EEKeeper is or how to use it, but can't I just make copies of my savegames and copy/paste them back into the game after installing the patch?

Please help a dummy out.

    Yes, you can do that.

    That warning is only there if you've been using ShadowKeeper and have made a hard link to your saved game directory. If you haven't done that, the update won't touch your saved games.
