I had Dorn with the Sword of Chaos and I did a lot of running around and shooting wands at him. I didn't have a mage at all, though, which might have helped.

I think you need a magic weapon to hit him, maybe even a +2. There is a dagger in that tomb that will work. I had a real hard time myself with only a berserker, Viconia, and hexxat. I tried to distract him with summons while the berserk ran in and stabbed. I had to use all 8 of my extra healing potions though.

I found that Rasaads Sun Soulray was useful against him.

Otherwise you'll probably want to stick with magic damaging spells. He has only 10% magic resistance so chances are they will get through. Magic Missiles will wittle him down. He regenerates at a rate of 1hp/2 seconds.

His AI kind of cheats from what I can see of it. It looks as if it can tell whether or not characters have items that give them charm protection.

Possibly not without leaving the tomb. Do you have level 5 priest spells? Chaotic commands would work.

Looking at it online it looks like you can get a helmet of charm protection in the following three areas.

On the first floor of the Harper Hold (you'll need to have brought Renfeld's body to it to and talked to Xzar in order to gain access to it).
Draug Fea in the Sewers. (Tough fight)
Maferan in the Guarded Compound. (Tough fight)

For the record you need a +2 weapon to hit him or a weapon that can hit as though it is a +2 weapon.

This is true, the AI will spam charms on the highest ordered party character without charm protection.

Best way to deal with this is with a dedicated spell save tank, and every one above him on your party list to be charm immune. Or cast chaotic commands on everyone. I shortmanned him with a party of 4 including hexxat, and didn't find it hard.
