Odd behavior with "no ammo required" missile weapons

Noticed a couple of problems with several types of "no ammo required" missile weapons when ammunition is used with them. Here's a breakdown, since they are each a little different.
Firetooth:
- With no ammo equipped, displays an extraneous "Firetooth +4 ToHit" in the inventory THAC0 calculation, but it does not appear to affect the actual THAC0. http://i.imgur.com/hMaG6Gn.jpg
- Applies the bonus fire damage even if alternative ammunition is used.
- The tooltip states that the crossbow itself gives -4 to THAC0, while the fire bolts give -2 to THAC0. When alternative ammunition is used, the full -6 to THAC0 is added to any bonuses from the ammunition instead of just -4 from the crossbow. http://i.imgur.com/wX1RdDD.jpg
Shortbow of Gensen:
- With no ammo equipped, displays an extraneous "Shortbow of Gensen ToHit" in the inventory THAC0 calculation, but it does not appear to affect the actual THAC0.
- Applies both the bonus electrical and piercing damage even if alternative ammunition is used.
-The tooltip's THAC0 description appears to be correct if somewhat confusing (with no ammo, it shoots +4 missiles [in terms of what it can hit] with no bonus to THAC0, and the bow itself gives a +4 bonus to THAC0).
Sling of Seeking and Sling of Everard
- With no ammo equipped, displays an extraneous "Sling of Seeking +1 ToHit" or "Sling of Everard +5 ToHit" in the inventory THAC0 calculation, but it does not appear to affect the actual THAC0.
- In contrast to the tooltip descriptions, the damage and THAC0 bonuses are applied by the sling itself, and not the phantom bullets (which in fact do 1d4 damage and have no bonus to THAC0). This means that non-magical bullets (at 1d4+1 damage) are preferable to the phantom bullets in terms of damage (but not in terms of what can be hit).
- These slings get both a strength and dexterity bonus to THAC0 whether ammunition is equipped or not. Normal slings only get a dexterity bonus to THAC0. http://i.imgur.com/fIauN0I.jpg
Tansheron's Bow
- With no ammo equipped, displays an extraneous "Tansheron's Bow +3 ToHit" in the inventory THAC0 calculation, but it does not appear to affect the actual THAC0.
-In contrast to the tooltip description, the THAC0 bonus is applied by the bow itself, and not the phantom arrows. Equipping non-magical arrows does not change the THAC0 of the attack, but does change what can be hit.
In short, the bonuses of these items are applied to the launcher and not the ammunition. Using ammunition allows the player to double up on many of these bonuses.
I attached a save for those who want to test anything out for themselves.
