torgal help

alright so I made the mistake yet again to go to the keep first and am now stuck on Torgal. however unlike a year ago I have SCS to add onto a tough battle. rather than sitting about reloading more, I thought I might ask for some tips here. I pretty much having my mages fireball them all, send in skeleton summons to block while I take out the hulk and trolls, but torgal himself has screwed everything up so many times. he hits hard and destroys my party's morale. I am a little desperate to kill him right now so I can get the keep for my fighter/thief. the mages also seem to be a threat. recommended spells? my party is:

fighter/thief
Jaheira
Minsc
Neera
Aerie
Viconia

Levels? I think you should be able to spam web with your mages if you have an invisible spotter. That should allow you to clear out all of his minions with fireball/glyph of warding leaving only Torgal. At that point all you need to do is try and counter his buffs or simply bash him down with everything you've got. I don't remember which buffs(if any) he comes with in SCS, but make sure to try and dispel as much as you can if he has. Stuff like improved invisibility basically gives him 4 free AC, so have Jaheira cast invisibility purge. Have Aerie or Viccy cast remove fear, that way you shouldn't be panicking. I don't know what his level is, but maybe a dispel magic on him would work too, although your casters might be too low level for that to have any real chance of working. Good luck!

I may go see if they are susceptible to web in SCS then. they seem to start all hasted and the mages improved invisibility. the best things I've done is silence the mages to keep them out of the fight, and I've taken the umber hulk a good number of times with a good backstab along with the fireballs and magic missiles. I can get it down to the mages and torgal basically. luckily he doesn't seem to have any buffs other than invisibility as far as I can tell.

If you're really stuck you can retreat back to the umber hulk room and close the door behind you after Torgal and the trolls enter. The mages will open the door eventually but they take their time getting there

Greater Malinson + Webs + Fireballs/Cloudkills/Chaos (it is convenient to use minor sequencers). Just let Neera and Aerie take care of everybody (via aforementioned spells) except Torgal. Fighter/Thief, Minsc and Jaheir with help of potions (extra Strengh...), Viconia´s buffing spells (Defensive harmony, Bless etc.) should deal with him.

There you will also find some advices: http://forums.gibberlings3.net/index.php?showtopic=25797

Yea just throw in a couple of dual web minor sequencers and a greater malison then nuke the room from orbit.

Just camp in the room before torgal, give one of your chars invisibility, run him inside. Torgal will attack this one while his guard stand still. Then pull him out into your camp = Torgal solo.

forgot to mention I eventually got him yesterday. 4 fireballs from the two mages, then one from a scrolls, killed a mage and severely weakened everyone. it is a bit cheesy, but apparently torgal wouldn't talk because he was already silenced and therefore wouldn't attack. I just killed everyone then killed torgal as he stood there. well, the silence did wear off as we were attack but it was a little late for him.

I eventually even looked at all the different tips and just what the battle is in SCS and realized everything I would need, but I ended up winning like this and didn't feel like bothering. the fireballs, backstab the umber hulk, torgal always attacks charname first so he should run straight after his backstab while we go in to attack the trolls with everybody except whoever is getting chased. with them gone everybody runs away for a dispel on the mages and then attack them. everybody switch to ranged and kill torgal. at least it looks like that would be what works with my spells. I also forgot that I had those wands from Irenicus dungeon so I could have used cloudkill wand even though I didn't have cloudkill yet.

He is the best tip for Torgal in your situation :
Make Viconia learn 4x Guardian Glyph (or more if she can)
Open the door to the final room, put glyphs as far as you reach without contacting torgal.
Sleep, put glyphs, repeat (they do not dissapear).
Send someone to lure them, they will kill themselves on glyphs instantly.
Throw 1-2 fireballs to kill trolls. No fight required .

    Simple and effective.

The wands from the first dungeon only have a single charge. Never leave waukeens promenade without cloudkill, web and stinking cloud.

yeah I forgot to purchase them. the wand was quite effective though since it actually completely kills them, but it was still of course a single use.

Does SCS change TorGal's stats and is there a way to find how? According NearInfinity he has 30 MR and save vs spell 7. I doomed him to 9, taking LoB into account 4. But I can't hold him when I should've 10% chance. It goes sometimes saved vs spell and sometimes magic resistance, magic resistance is first right?
