The first thing you run into is Quaid but he just disappears (sometimes before you talk to him and sometimes after). And when I say disappear, I don't mean become invisible or teleport - he just disappears. If you reload and try again, he will disappear at a different time. /J

    This is intended. Quaid is actually...

    ...an illusion. Neera, Aerie and Jaheira will see through the illusion if you have them in your party.

    I don't feel like reading the spoiler but it's a bit crappy that something looks like a bug when it isn't...
