Is it normal for SCS to take over an hour to install?

It's been installing for 70minutes now and still is...

    It takes time, but not that long. At least not for me.

    On my system I think it was installing like 10 - 15 minutes, but I have BG2 installed on SSD.

    It's about 15 min on my desktop from a clean install. It could be a lot longer if you have a lot of mods installed already.

    It took little over 2hours in the end, I did have a lot of mods installed already :)

    (sorry) lol .. over 70 minutes .. mine takes appx around 8-10 mins (max)

    I had about 30-40min. Just start the installation and prepare your dinner ;)

    On BGT with tons of mods it take more than one hour.

    Weird, it took me ~ an hour to install on EE on a machine with an overclocked Sandybridge 2600k and a SSD...

    SCS is the only mod I have installed but I didn't even install every component, (none of the item tweaks).

    If you install some components after SCS like I did with the banter pack and Weimers Item upgrade, SCS will start installing all over again. And it's necessary - don't cancel the installation or all your mods will be broken.
    If you've a lot of mods installed, this can take even two hours or more.

    Start the installation and go to sleep :)

    took over 2 hours for me as well.. some components had errors.. and then it broke my install. (see separate post for details).

    Took about an hour for me as well. Wasn't this long on the earlier versions.

    I have the game installed on SSD, but LOTS of other mods installed before SCS; install is over an hour.

    I still can't install via the steam client! At least yours can install!

    Mine took 20 minutes when installing in vanilla BG2:ToB w/Ascension, best mod combo ever, after BG1 NPC project + SCS, well, maybe... now ToB is playable more than one time.
