#7199 [NEERA] - Edwin/Neera conflict breaks quest

If you have Neera in your party, when you take Edwin on board during the Mae'var quest, it immediately causes a fight where you have to choose between them. If you choose Neera over Edwin, Edwin immediately leaves and disappears ... taking the key to the strongbox which you need to get the documents incriminating Mae'var with him. This makes the quest uncompleteable.

No, it doesn't. You can just take the key and tell Edwin that you don't need his services and you'll aquire Mae'var's document's yourself. He'll go directly to Copper Coronet.

I'm saying it activates the conflict dialogue immediately, with no time to take the key off of Edwin.

If you tell Edwin that you don't need him to do the quest he gives you the key and goes to the Copper Coronet immidiately, without joining the team.

That's a workaround then, but it's still something which shouldn't really happen.

For plot reasons this conflict is stronger than others. I can't really imagine these two in one party... At the begining of the quest Neera gives you hints that she doesn't want to have anything to do with Edwin. It's an inconvinience, but I think that it's intentional.

@LiamEsler: Looking for a final call on whether this is intentional or not?

@Big_Murray: Are you suggesting that once the conflict happens it makes this quest uncompletable (that's how I read your initial post).

Once Edwin decides to leave, can you drop Neera and get him back? Or is he, and the key, gone permanently at this point?

@Illydth This is a bug, I think the scene will need to be reworked.

Edwin just goes to his spot in the Copper Coronet. He doesn't leave for good.

We can make him give up the key to the protagonist before he leaves though.

If it's easier you might have Edwin simply say something like "I'm going to the Copper Coronet. If you want Mae'Var's key, you'll have to ditch the hack witch chimpanzee. When you do come fine me there."

+1'd because I want to see 'hack witch chimpanzee' make it into a line in this game =D

    Awesome.

    Use this line please.

This bug has been fixed internally -- alas, there are no new lines. We try not to add those if we can help it, for various reasons. :)
