Avenger spider caught in Web

In BGEE my avenger was never caught in any Web spell whilst in sword spider form. Indeed, this was one of his primary combat strategies: cast a couple of Webs, transform into a sword spider, and take apart the stuck enemies.

However, I noticed very early in BG2EE that he *did* get caught in Web (at least one cast by Imoen) while in sword spider form.

Is this a bug? Or has the avenger sword spider always had this problem in BG2?
