Custom parties transfer to BG2:EE?

As far as I am aware, custom parties (a la the multiplayer workaround in the original games) will be in BG:EE, but has there been any info on whether a custom party will transferrable to BG2:EE? It goes without saying that CHARNAME can be imported, just wondering if a full party can as well.

I like to make two or three characters of my own (rest of the slots reserved for quest/romance/interesting NPCs). It's partially for powergaming (so I can have a guaranteed decent thief and mage at any time) and partially because I don't like alot of the NPCs.
