how is Anomen if he fails his test?

I wanna do an evil playthrough and have never used Anomen. I'll probably also bring Viconia, but I was wondering, is there any drawback to his failure other than losing out on 2 each level 1 and 2 spells? I know he has some problems with good characters, but the rest of my party is evil.
I also think goading Anomen into murder fits well in that playthrough.

he loses out on the Sir title, 50 000 xp and the 4 wisdom boost ( as you mentioned) plus it changes his alignment to lawful good which obviously you don't want, and if im not mistaken his alignment turns to chaotic neutral when he fails, so in other words, nothing really bad happens to him if he fails

Don't taunt him when you leave the Order's headquarters after his test, or he will go hostile.

Also, he will eventually get into a fight with Keldorn and Aerie but you probably don't want them in your party anyway. :-)

He goes nutty. Definitely worth trying on a chaotic and/or evil playthrough.

Will he get along worth Dorn? I heard they have beef when A is good.
