How do I dual into a shadowdancer from fighter?

I tried using EEkeeper to go fighter > SD on several attempts, both dualing with the game and on my own, but I can't seem to get the backstab modifiers to work (they are thief modifiers). Can anyone post how to do it if you've been able to successfully accomplish it?

Have you tried gaining a level as shadowdancer after dualing? The process of leveling up will sometimes auto-correct glitchy states (since it involves a table lookup).

Yes, I added XP and the thief backstab progression continued.
