Following a Deity

After reading some of these posts, I think it'd be an awesome idea to be able to choose to Venerate a certain God once you come across one of their followers. I really think it'd add some personalization... along with some interesting bonuses... especially if the gods know what you are and what you can achieve. I would think the gods would make some type of investment in you if you chose to venerate them.

    I would love this sort of customisation, but I don't know if it is really viable.

    I think this would be great since the god are such an important part of the setting and the story of you pc. It would be great if your chosen deity was show to be watching you, Im sure they would given the whole "situation" with your father

    I like the idea. Maybe worshiping Oghma will give you a boost in the lore stat and allow you to identify an item once a day seeing that he is the lord of knowledge.

    Well if you really think about it... small bonuses would be awesome, it would also lend more to the lore of the forgotten realms universe to those that will pay attention, and maybe during Throne of Bhaal, the god that will test you could be someone other than Cyric...

    I always thought it was a bit odd that even if you were a cleric the god you worshipped never so much as stopped in for a chat in Throne of Bhaal. Well, unless you worship Cyric I suppose :p

    yea but if you do worship cyric, he STILL acts like you're opposing him in some way, so it's pretty much the same difference.
