It is, in short, very difficult modding even for people good at it. You would need to modify a great number of individual images by hand, as each animation of a fighter moving/facing a certain direction consists of several individual frames in sequence. And that's just the work involved, then you'd need a decent amount of artistic skill to make it look good.
You could download the BAM Workshop and BAM Workshop 2 programs and open some bams in them to get an idea of how they work. Start by trying to edit a less complex bam before jumping into a playable character animation, imo.
for examle i can find fighting anims but cant find walk anim and walk with weapon anim, and stand with weapon anim.. Strange, where that bams can be stored?
PC: find walk anim, but there no walk with weapon anim
As far as I know the avatar bam names all start with c, followed by race, sex and class.. so human male fighter would start with chmf, followed by a number that indicates armour level (1=unarmoured, 2=leather, etc). The fighter avatar might be more complicated though since they share animations with barbarians and clerics.. it's possible some are labeled differently.
The weapons aren't part of the character animations but are separate bams. I believe the walk with weapon animation is simply the standard walking bam + a carried weapon bam.
And yes, many animations appear very late in the bam cycles. What do you mean by 1 pixel spot?
Shin big thanks that u answering all my noob questions:)
I mean for example chmf4g1.bam is stand animation for Human Fighter in chain armour. It has 98 sequences, while with model there only 9 sequences from 9 to 19. All other sequences are just 3 pixel yellow square without any additional details.
Not sure if those are transparent pixels or if they'd actually display ingame, but either way those "empty" cycles generally aren't active as far as I know.
