Unable to assign or view any key bindings

Good day! I have so far been unable to find this noted as a known issue either on this forum or elsewhere on the internet via Google, so I'm hoping that this is not somehow a case of user error!

I've downloaded via Steam and started new games in both BG:EE and BG2:EE, and have noticed the same issue in both games.

Upon entering Options, Gameplay, and Assign Keys, I am able to view on the left the "gems" to select for Page, Actions, Miscellaneous, and so on; however, selecting said gems does not bring up the list of bindings to assign. That is to say, the right column of the Assign Keys page remains blank.

For what it's worth, as I mentioned, these are the Steam versions of the games, and I am running Windows 7.

Just wanted to post an update to this in case someone else happens to search for this topic: a day later upon booting the game (after presumably having restarted my desktop at some point) I was suddenly able to now view and alter key assignments. So this issue has resolved itself for me.

I do wish I was able to assign the map movement keys from the arrow keys to A, S W, and D, which makes two-handed gaming on the computer far easier, but that is a separate matter.
